Judge Daniella

Daniella DeSeta Lyttle was elected by Travis County voters to the 261st District Court for a four-year term in 2022. She is the first Latina and the first female Army Veteran to serve the 261st. She presides over civil and family-law cases, including business, commercial, administrative, consumer, real estate, divorce, child-custody and Child Protective Services cases.

Prior to being elected Judge of the 261st District Court, Daniella was a full-time trial lawyer working in Austin, where she has resided for over 24 years. Judge DeSeta Lyttle was a litigator in the district courts of Travis County, but she also litigated cases in central Texas counties and federal Courts around the state of Texas. Daniella was the founder and Managing Partner of Lyttle Law Firm, PLLC, specializing in Immigration Law, Family Law, Business Law, and Entertainment Law.

Daniella helped the most vulnerable members of the community, devoting herself to ensuring access to justice to victims of violence, immigrants and veterans, making her well qualified for Travis County’s 261st District Court. She has extensive experience litigating business and contract disputes through her business and entertainment law practice which provides an extensive and well-rounded background applicable to her judgeship in addition to her family law litigation and immigration background.

In law school, Daniella was a top law student graduating at the top of her class and her legal research and writing was published in her second year of law school. She interned with the Attorney General of Texas (tort litigation and child support unit) and Texas Rio Grande Legal Aid, working on Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) cases and family law matters. Daniella is also an Army Veteran having served in the U.S. Army as an enlisted Combat Medic and is multilingual (English/Spanish/Portuguese).

Daniella has been married to her best friend and partner in life Jim for over 20 years and together they have two amazing sons who love music and sports.
