Daniella DeSeta Lyttle was elected by Travis County voters to serve as Judge of the 261st District Court in November 2022. She is the first Latina and the first female Army Veteran to serve on the 261st District Court.

A U.S. Army Veteran and former enlisted Infantry Combat Medic, Judge DeSeta Lyttle brings to the bench the discipline, courage, perseverance, and commitment to service she developed through her military service. Her experience in the Army taught her the importance of integrity, accountability, attention to detail, and doing the right thing—without fear or favor.

Judge DeSeta Lyttle presides over a broad range of civil and family-law matters, including business, commercial, administrative, consumer, real estate, divorce, child-custody, and Child Protective Services cases.

Before taking the bench, Daniella was an experienced full-time trial lawyer in Austin. She founded and served as Managing Partner of Lyttle Law Firm, PLLC, where she represented clients in Immigration, Family, Business, and Entertainment Law. She litigated cases throughout Central Texas and in federal courts across Texas, giving her extensive courtroom experience in complex business and contract disputes, family law, immigration, and matters involving some of the most vulnerable members of our community.

Throughout her legal career, Daniella has been committed to access to justice, representing victims of violence, immigrants, families, and veterans. She began her legal career through internships with the Texas Attorney General’s Office and Texas RioGrande Legal Aid, including work on Violence Against Women Act and family-law matters.

Daniella graduated at the top of her law-school class, and her legal research and writing was published during her second year of law school. She is also multilingual, speaking English, Spanish, and Portuguese.

Judge DeSeta Lyttle believes that the judiciary must be independent, fair, hardworking, and accessible to everyone. She brings the same commitment to service that guided her military career to her work on the bench: leadership, integrity, discipline, and a steadfast commitment to justice.

Daniella has been married to her best friend and partner in life, Jim, for more than 20 years. Together they have two sons who love music and sports.
